Leckford Estate covers 4000 acres.  It is run as two companies: the first is a farming, profit-making company producing arable crops for seed, milk from Holstein Friesian cows which is processed, bottled and delivered to local doorsteps as well as being sold to Waitrose supermarkets.  Apples and pears from its 230 acre Fruit Farm are sold through its Farm Shop and Waitrose.  A modern purpose-built farm produces 30 tonnes of mushrooms each week, the majority being sold into Waitrose supermarkets.  A Nursery sells a wide range of shrubs and plants, nearly all of which are propagated from foundation stock grown in our own gardens.  The Nursery houses National Collections of Buddleia and Clematis Viticella.

The second company provides leisure facilities for John Lewis Partnership staff and commercial clients:  the Estate operates two 9-hole golf courses and offers fly-fishing on its 11 miles of bank on the River Test.  There are 70 acres of ornamental gardens including the famous Longstock Park Water Garden.
